     These programs are here and there in various cities, I think it might 
have been the long-running Columbus Ohio program here, re:Art, that was at 
the forefront.  Sadly, their program will fold at the end of this year.

     This may be straying a little from the list focus, but maybe not -- 
are any of you on the list dumpster divers?  Go ahead and snub your nose, 
but here in the Land Of The Free (And Wasteful) I'm constantly surprised at 
the amount of useful things I find when I dig into the bins.  Just for 
starters, if you're looking for sheer bulk media (records, videos, etc.), 
let me recommend an evening visit to a Half-Price Books chain store.  They 
deal in used stuff but they don't buy everything, so many things end up in 
the trash.
