It's a great idea. And it's been implemented to some extent with webcams
-- I remember seeing a project in Amsterdam(?) a while back that placed
cams in high crime areas and provided fax-links to local police precincts:
anyone in the world (24-7) could 'patrol' these areas. The project also
_reduced the need for police presense as well as providing a means to
evaluate their response... Imagine webcams in every courthouse and
jailhouse. A good thing.
