>>Q: If Sony offered you a contract to distribute and promote your last
>>album/tape/CD-R as-is, no changes to the recording, would you take it?
No. It's bad enough trying to keep control of your destiny with some small
labels - some of the people I have dealt with should be working at Sony.
If Sony offered (which is highly unlikely) then I would use that
information as great publicity and if it felt right link up with a label I
might want to be associated with (a Mute offshoot for example). But even
as I write I still think that it would be the beginning of just one more
fight.
>>Q: If they offered to pay for your next one, would you take the money?
Have made money through gigs and more recently art grants, both require
less bullshit than changing to making money for an entity who is basically
BUYING you, and I'd sooner keep going down the track of being the boss than
do a glorified MacDonalds job.
>>Q: Would you double-bill with Rage Against The Machine?
They'd probably only ask you to make them look hip.
