XNet – Expert knob twister on various soundmachines. Spins hardtrance records in the Munich sub-underground and on excentric fashion nights since 99. He is currently fancying world domination by successively gaining control of all local TV stations. Rumour has it that he once starred in a porn movie called “Tailenders”.

The works presented here are all spontaneous in one way or the other They have a certain live appeal in common that means they are either recorded in a live situation, improvised from scratch or made especially for live performance.

01. Wittelsbacher Gymnasium Lower Grade Choir: Fisches Nachtgesang
When I was about eleven I joined my school choir and at one of the annual spring concerts we performed Fisches Nachtgesang by Christian Morgenstern (text) and Martin Evanzin (music). The funny thing is that there is no music or text. Just the choir moving their mouths like fish. The real genius however was the person recording this “song”!

02. Helge Schneider: Klapperstrauss
Radical piercing Tekkno!!

03. DJ XNet : Can Can You Sample
When I got my first DJ mixer at the age of 15 I created this magnificent bootleg with just the mixer, a turntable and a CD Player.

04. Synergy4: Munich-Town
In 1999 I bought a step sequencer and the first project was our own boygroup. So we tried to produce songs that sounded like the Backstreet Boys. And we nearly succeeded. The only obstacles that prevented our worldwide success were extraterrestrial forces and the millennium bug. To meet the requirements of a professional boygroup we decided that the four people performing this song on stage should not take part in recording.

05. N.Darcq: Subterranean Flight
Ambient-turning-to-noise-disaster-epic !

06. Emu Orchestra : Session 1 on July 5, 2002
The Emu orchestra is a project of former physics professor Dieter Trüstedt. The members construct their own experimental instruments. This is an improvisation based on a highly redundant text by Samuel Beckett about a woman looking out of her window. Unfortunately, Dieter stood on a cable during the recording session. Listen closely to the guy with the vocoder.

07. Soundfreaks: Ain't No Fun At All V 0.9
MY BAND! Here is an older version of one of our tracks: How to keep a track interesting with a simple drumloop and only one sound. If you like this stuff maybe you are interested in this video of our guerrilla-gig in a Munich subway train.

08. XNet: Flash Kommissar Crash
A little piece I cut together from the music of the famous German TV series “Der Kommissar” from the 60ies. This was used as the intro for the gigs of a friend's rock band: Flash TV Crash.

09. Wellves: C'mon C'mon
When Flash TV Crash split up after insurmountable disaccords, the bass guitar player started a new project. They created this great track over a sample from the Beatles

10. Masters Of The Universe: Hurz
One of the many Soundfreaks coverbands! In this live-recording from April 2004 however they are covering a track from German entertainer Hape Kerkeling. Imagine this track being played at your local Techno/House club. As far as I know there were several people complaining to the club's owners'.

11. Vehler: Can You Feel Me Now
All sounds except the drumloop are achieved through microphone (voice, convenience goods, subwoofer feedback) or EQ'ed feedback chains. Everything that goes into the microphone gets looped every bar so the track gets tighter every time. Synthesizers and other instruments are not allowed.

12. Moritz: Bohemian Rhapsody
On my last birthday party I tried to organize some Karaoke, of course without TV screen and lyrics. The first song on this evening was Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen. After four songs I got thrown out of the DJ booth because all the guests were complaining. Luckily this guy was the first one singing.
