[rumori] RE: Phantom Edit

But hasn't most of the Star Wars story line been told in comic books and
fiction etc. Although most of this fiction is just fiction, some of it is
canonical to the actual storyline. So the story is already out there for
people to work out. (*)

And Ep 1.1 sounds like more of a re-edit than a change in story line -
although we see less of Jar Jar, the same story is still being told.

------

(*) [SPOILER WARNING]

I read a great comic set straight after the Return of the Jedi, where we
find out the Emperor was not actually killed, but had clones around, and
such powerful life force that when he was killed he simply re-inhabited a
clone body. We also find out that Anakin went to the dark side attempting to
defeat the empire from within, and at the end of the comic it appears Luke
may try the same. Apparently the comic is canonical, and having read it I
was very excited about the possibilities for Eps 1-3 and 7-9.... and was
then highly disappointed in Ep 1.
