pretty good article covering the constitutional origins of
copyright and how Madison, Washington and Jefferson differed
slightly in their thinking on intellectual property. goes on
to explain how present law has swayed from these origins.

it's sort of ironic that it's on MSNBC. the article even
makes brief mention of computer operating systems as an
example of bad monopolies....
