My immediate response to this was condescending and mean-spirited, so
instead of being a prick, I'll just point out that Prelinger has already
mentioned in other forums (and at least one of those messages might have
been posted here if I'm not entirely off my nut) that the cost of
maintaining the archive as it exists right now isn't exactly a non-issue.
This probably has something to do with why a more or less free service is
being used for the support forum, and why not every single file format out
there is being used to serve up the material that has been made available
so far. As with most open source/public access services, this one has
started out working within an available budget, and I'm sure that donations
and suggestions would be appreciated (and maybe even acted upon, from what
Vicki says).
In other parts, I'm curious to know what constitutes adequate financial
commitment to get some of you Europeans to do a show here in North America.
After all, if I ever get married and Firewater isn't available for the
festivities, I think it would be pretty cool to hire Vicki and Felix Kubin
as DJs.
This is *so* twelve hours past its prime.
