this should be off list but i somehow lost the address
of the person i was trying to help. maybe some of
this will be of interest anyway.
in regards to MPEG-2:
currently, Quicktime does not play MPEG-2 files.
whether or not it will is anyone's guess. You might
want to look into getting Virtual PC set up or
something. Windows Media PLayer says it supports
extensions: .mpg, .mpeg, .m1v, .mp2, .mpa, .mpe
in any case, as far as Mac playing MPEG-2 files - none
of us know how this can be done.
in regards to iDVD using MPEG-2:
it doesn't support MPEG-2. it supports .MOV's only
(according to the Mac employee we asked).
StudioPro supports M2V.
