Wow, that is a great, inspiring story.
Too bad (ironic, actually) that they use RealAudio
(proprietary corporate system) for their stream.
also (speaking of listening), if they've only got a DSL
line, they've only got a possible maximum of 90 or so
listeners at any one time. (If they have a 1.5Mbit
connnection and are broadcasting at the lowest possible
quality, which is about 16bps for realaudio, i think. true,
you can sometimes get faster DSL lines, maybe 5Megs, but the
point is still there - very limited audience without the
heavy bandwidth and distribution networks that only
corporate media outlets can afford.... ) Too bad
multicasting never took off and doesnt look like it will....
but actually maybe it's better that way. limited audiences
stops it from every being a lowest-common-denominator mass
broadcast medium....
