Well, the reason why CD's became so popular is that in the span of a couple
years, record companies
stopped making records and tapes, and made CDs; and in the minds of
consumers they were both
better quality and standard tech. That, and cassete tapes suck (in many
ways). And the same
will happen with DVDs, they will become omnipresent, and will also begin to
command much
greater mindshare than perhaps they deserve...
