Jay, what are you talking about here, exactly? Our distributor
doesn't "ask for more money to pay for distribution costs".
Maybe I misunderstood what you're trying to say here, but when
Seeland decides to release something, the distributor takes their CUT
from the sales, which is about 21%, then Seeland takes an additional
percentage (generally 7%), and we give the remainder to the artist.
And "money" has exactly zero to do with how we approve or do not
approve a project for release; the manufacturing costs are borne by
the artists. We make suggestions but not a budget.
I don't quite know how you fellas would approach a distributor about
handling a project that's actually going to be "droplifted"... but
then I've been skimming these emails not too carefully, so please
DON'T FILL ME IN!!!!!
