I have yet to hear mentioned the name of the German artist or group who covered
the track. Who is it? And why did they cover the track? At the specific
request of someone in Sony?
in the end, this track was not just spit out by some corporate music making
machine. sony does not make the music, it sells it. perhaps it asked
X to cover the song with the promise of lucrative deals, but arguing
about the original vs the cover without really knowing much about the cover
seems kind of pointless to me.
a corporation, while it may legally be a single entity, is really an attempted
organization of individuals, and we should not forget this; over time,
parts of organizations become more or less differentiated from each other,
and the ways in which they interact. this is a system that can mutate
and dissolve.
