You're right, and I apologize. In the case of most of your above
examples, I've been out of hand. Though in some cases I didnt mean to be
mean. I think the medium of email makes good-natured sarcasm a lot harder
to interpret as good-natured than other forms of discussion, and i am
continually re-learning that.

>while debating a point with you, so you definitely shouldn't do that to
>one of your own comrades-in-arms (so to speak.). Sorry to butt in, but,

I guess my problem is that I keep taking for granted that people agree all
the way with my way of thinking, when in fact the people who are on this
list and/or are sympathetic to the "Detritus cause" are that for a variety
of reasons. Many of us agree on some common basic points (e.g. "sampling
is fun") but some don't go as far as others on some other more extreme
points (e.g. the fight for the freedom to sample is part of the fight
against late capital).

(perhaps there should be a survey. Mark's questions are a good start. I'm
curious to see the range of responses.)

So, again, I'm sorry. I certainly MEAN to be inclusive and welcome other
points of view, it's just that I often get so used to talking with people
closer to me who share my view, that i get very suprised when something
that seems crystal clear to me and these close associates is disputed.

so, i will endeavor to be more polite and tolerant. I really am glad
there is a wide variety of different perspectives on this list, it would
probably be pretty boring otherwise.

and thanx chris for calling me on this.

regards,

smh
