i probbaly need to explain the context of that last message from me.
it is part of a long discussion about audience on the Bay Area New Music
List. I think that's the name of it. it's a confusing name - what is "new
music"? but what it refers to is the large but not that large circle of
performers in and around san francisco who play what is usually called
"free improv". It's usually acoustic and descends from jazz idioms.
as such it's a little off topic here, but i thought it would be somewhat
relevant and interesting.
