I don't know how they could identify a cover (they can't, really, even if
the uploader has *said* it's a cover, as there are covers of various
things from video game themes to Chris Isaak to Kraftwerk on mp3.com), but
how they identify samples is fairly simple-- they guess. If something
sounds sampled to *them*, they'll ask questions. I have yet to run into
problems with sampling (and I've sampled many a thing in my music on
mp3.com), but I know some friends have.
