A while ago I've heard on TV that Princess Diana's signature and image
couldn't be registred for commercial purposes as some would have liked in
the UK. So it is legal to have all sorts of stupid gadgets with her face to
sell as tourist souvenirs and so on without permission from her family or
some foundation.
Apart that this seemed a bit in contrast with the so-called "right to
image" (i.e. you can't use someone else's image without consent) and it
seems strange that a court agreed on this, Diana's image and name was said
to "belong to the people".
Hmmm. Hehehe. ];^>
So maybe we should have a proper tribute album for her, called "Public
Domain Princess", and fill it with large chunks of Paul Anka's "Diana"
mixed with Michael Jackson's "Dirty Diana" and tons of other shite.
OK, I promise I won't produce any further deliriums for the rest of the
week. :)
