Last night i saw a film called "Predictions of Fire" by Michael Benson, a documentary about Neue Slowenische Kunst (New Slovenian Art),
the collective which includes the band Laibach and the visual artists
IRWIN. The film discussed Slovenian history and NSK's place in it,
exploring the way the group appropriates history and the symbols of
ideology (facism, communism, religion) to make critiques of those
structures. It was fascinating and well done, and i reccommend it to
anyone who gets a chance to see it.
